Paying to Ride
Running a bike park doesn’t come cheap. Maintaining the trails, staffing the site, administration and insurance all eat up money. Aston Hill also is not funded by any other means; your paying to ride is currently the only way to guarantee both the quality and the future of Aston Hill Bike Park.
How Much Does it Cost?
It costs £6 per person per day to ride at Aston Hill if you buy online, or £7 from a Forestry Commission ranger onsite. As explained above, this not only covers your personal insurance to ride on Forestry Commission land, but also goes towards the upkeep, lease and development of the park.
If you ride at Aston Hill a lot, it’s worth taking out one of the CTC / Aston Hill membership packages. Full CTC Aston Hill membership is £71 and associate membership is £48 for an adult member. Both provide year round access to Aston Hill* (and full members can ride at Rogate and Tilgate) as well as the CTC’s third party insurance and an invitation to the Aston Hill annual general meeting. Full CTC membership also has the added benefits that come with being a member of the UK’s largest cycle organisation.
There is a comprehensive range of memberships available, including junior and family options.

If you pay on the day and then decide to become an Aston Hill member after riding, see the Forestry Commission Ranger before you leave and they’ll refund your daypass, as well as post the application you’ll fill in. How’s that for service?
So what do I get?
As well as being able to ride year round at Aston Hill (and Rogate and Tilgate, depending on your membership), benefits include:

- Discounts at Dees Cycles in Amersham, Cycle Care and Freewheelin’ Bikes in High Wycombe, and Mountain Mania in Tring (these are all listed in more detail on the facilities page).
- The other benefits of being a member of the CTC.
