A big thank you to all those that came to the Eastern and Central Champs to cheer-on and a massive well done to all that raced on what proved to be a tricky course! Thanks even more for your patience during the stop in proceedings – it was much appreciated.
Thanks as well to the incredibly generous prize donators Dialled Bikes; Troy Lee Designs, SRAM, Truvativ, Rock Shox and Kaaboom! (Fisher Outdoor); Gusset and Halo (Ison Distribution); DMR and Geax (Upgrade Bikes); Madison.co.uk; Nema (Chocolate Distribution); Continental; Dees Cycles; Tring Brewery; Monster Energy and Swiss and Swallow.
Massive thanks also to all the marshals who donated their time (and diesel!) to making it a smooth-running event.
That’s it! Well done to all the racers on a great race and the spectators on the great atmosphere – hope you enjoyed it! Final results, photos and a race report will be posted asap.
So – same time next year?
The Easter and Central Champs is now full – there are no more on-the-day entries left.
All non-race trails will be shut for Sunday, so please come and spectate (it looks like it’s going to be a cracking race!) but don’t come to ride!
Normal opening will resume Monday.
After a dry week that’s seen some stunning, misty early-autumnal mornings, the weekend looks like it’s going to continue in that theme.
As you can see from the shots below, the Hill is looking almost perfect – just damp enough to avoid dust-bowls, but still dry enough to make it very quick, with the opportunity to chuck up some roost.
Even better news is that this looks like it’ll stay this way for the weekend’s race, which means that it’ll probably be a packed-out event. If you haven’t already entered, I’d suggest getting over Saturday to guarantee a place!
With that in mind, you need a rocking tune to road-trip over to.
‘Cuz I’m back baby – back in black!
Thanks to all who have entered the Eastern and Central Champs!
For those who haven’t, pre-entry has now closed. The the only way to enter the race is to come to the sign-on tent at the Hill which will be open all day Saturday and Sunday morning until 10am. And just so you know, we have fewer than 100 spaces left!
The race page has been updated and should answer all of your pressing questions. If you have any more, add a comment below and we’ll do our best to answer them.
If you need to find your way here, take a look at our location page.
Weather is looking fine with a dry run into the event and maybe a brief shower on the day, so fingers crossed it stays that way!
All other trails on the the Hill will be shut for the race on Sunday, with regular opening resuming Monday.
Other than that, see you Sunday!
